Vinyasa yoga
Vinyasa yoga is a term that broadly covers a wide range of yoga techniques.
It is often called flow yoga because of how each pose that is practiced
flows into the next. This type of yoga is a bit more unpredictable than
other types of yoga. People who are bored of slower types of yoga usually
prefer Vinyasa.
Vinyasa yoga means “breath-synchronized movement.” In most
Vinyasa classes, the movement between poses is accompanied by an inhale
or exhale of the breath. Some instructors may tell their students to
“go through the Vinyasa,” which describes three poses that
include the plank, chaturanga, and upward facing dog.
Styles that include Vinyasa yoga are:
• Anusara
• Bikram/Hot yoga
• Jivamukti
• Kundalini
• Power yoga
