Hatha yoga

Hatha yoga is commonly referred to as the forceful or physical yoga and is typically used to describe any of the physical practices of yoga. Often, the term “Hatha yoga” is used interchangeable with the term “yoga.” This type of yoga can be great for those newcomers who are interested in learning more about the poses and meditative qualities of yoga.

In Sanskrit, Hatha yoga is described as the union of the sun and the moon. This definition helps illustrate how this type of yoga is designed to regulate the energy of the body and the mind. Hatha yoga can help reduce stress as well as enhance physical and emotional development.

A typical Hatha yoga class is a much slower-paced class than other types of yoga that can be practiced. The class will involve some stretching as well as some simple breathing exercises and possibly seated meditation. It is a good way to introduce yourself to basic yoga poses and relaxation techniques.
